The short version: we collect only what we need to help you prepare for your exam. We never sell your data, never show ads, and never use third-party advertising or analytics trackers. You can delete your account and all your data from inside the app at any time.

Who we are

RankMaxxing is an exam-preparation app run by BreakThePattern, India. In this policy "we" means BreakThePattern. We are the Data Fiduciary for your data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect and why

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, phone number, or advertising ID. The app does not use your camera.

Consent, and students under 18

Most of our users are under 18. We ask for consent separately for each purpose (for example, notifications or learning analytics), and you can withdraw any of them in the app. We do not track behaviour for advertising, we do not target ads at anyone, and we have no features that show your activity to parents, schools or anyone else.

Who processes your data for us

We use a small number of service providers, under contract, only to run the app: cloud hosting and database (Supabase); network protection that passes the app's requests to our servers and blocks abuse (Cloudflare); delivering the notifications you allow (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging); and crash reporting (Sentry, with personal details stripped). We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we do not share it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Your account and learning data: while your account exists. Deleting your account erases it.
Crash reports: up to 30 days.
A minimal record that an account was deleted (no personal details), kept to prove we did it.

Your rights

You can see and correct your profile in the app, withdraw consent for any purpose, and delete your account and data at any time (Me → Delete account, or see how to delete your account). You may also contact us at siddhesh.parab28@gmail.com to access, correct or erase your data, or to raise a grievance. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with access restricted to our servers.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
